Lauren Scott is a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner at Women’s College Hospital. She is a passionate women’s health advocate.
Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner Lauren had an exciting career as a registered nurse working in neurotrauma at Canada’s largest paediatric hospital and travel nursing in Australia.
Lauren graduated from the prestigious global health/nurse practitioner program at the University of Toronto.
Passion for Nursing Education
She has an extensive teaching background, working as an interprofessional education specialist at the Sick Kids centre for global child health working primarily on a Caribbean initiative training registered nurses in Trinidad.
She has also worked as a clinical instructor and preceptor for RPN, RN, NP and medical students as well as family medicine residents.
Present Day Activities
For the past 8 years she has been working in primary care at Women’s College Hospital.
Her clinical practice focuses on women’s health and procedures. Her research interests are in pain management for ambulatory procedures and contraception. She is a national speaker and trainer on contraception.
Lauren is an adjunct lecturer at The University of Toronto’s schools of nursing and department of family and community medicine.
She is also a member of Ontario’s Emergency Medical Assistance Team (EMAT) and has been deployed in situations of medical emergencies in Northern communities and in COVID response efforts.
