Listeners will also learn just how useful the holding of a position like that is in terms of the development of a career with an ultimate aim of writing and directing within the world of filmmaking.
We also dig beneath surface level understandings of what the “grind” of work on a film set is all about. Furthermore, listeners will also gain insight into what those in the industry refer to as “set addiction” and not only what it means but how it manifests itself within the lives of people associated with a production.
The conversation also meanders into topics on finding inspiration within filmmaking, as well as that of advice to those looking for ways to build out an idea or concept into a filmmaking project.
The talk will truly be of interest to anyone with even a casual interest in the filmmaking scene and even more valuable to those who may have their own writing or directing aspirations but are just starting out.
A Memorable Quote from the Episode:
“One reason why I really wanted this position on set is to be close to directors to see what they’re thinking about. It’s hard to really know what it’s like to be a director especially on a big project unless you’re doing it yourself. Being able to be close to a director was one way I figured would be a great way to learn. “
